The feminine hygiene product brand Bodyform has done a great job in recent years demystifying conversations about menstruation (around which taboos continue to hover in the 21st century). In its new campaign, Bodyform has decided to focus its attention on endometriosis, a benign disease that unfortunately makes many women writhe in pain. The campaign, which has the tagline #PainStories , takes root on Instagram and orbits around a “pain dictionary” and a “pain museum” that strive to portray the multiple ways in which women experience pain. #PainStories, which is signed by the agency AMV BBDO, is actually a sequel to the acclaimed “Womb Stories” campaign launched by Bodyform last year. In that campaign, Bodyform dared to break the silence that unfortunately flaps around everything that happens in the bowels of the female womb. Although endometriosis, the condition that monopolizes all the focus in the new Bodyform campaign, affects one in ten women, it takes an average of 7.5 years to be diagnosed.
In addition, many women encounter difficulties when defining the pain caused by endometriosis on a scale of 1 out of 10 (as health professionals demand). Pain Dictionary Precisely for this reason Bodyform has Phone Number List seen fit to come up with a "pain dictionary" that uses a verbal and simultaneously visual language to describe the pain emanating from endometriosis. The dictionary collects descriptions of certain pains by the women who suffer them and illustrates them in a way that is as exquisite as it is visceral. One woman describes, for example, the pain inflicted by endometriosis as “a rabid goat repeatedly jumping on my abdomen.” And another woman points out that her pain is "as if my uterus was sending out tentacles to colonize the rest of my body with its cramps." The illustrator Venus Libido and the textile artist Ellis Pearce, who both suffer from endometriosis, have taken part in creating Bodyform's "pain dictionary" .
To bring to light the new Bodyform campaign, the AMV BBDO creative team searched Instagram to identify possible collaborations between the micro-influencers who are part of the community on this social network about endometriosis. “We tried to involve artists who suffered from endometriosis in the project so that they could reflect their own definition of pain in the campaign ,” explains Lauren Peters, art director at AMV BBDO. Pain Museum Bodyform “The horror and visceral nature of the pain associated with endometriosis is very important in the campaign's visualization of this disease ,” emphasizes Nadja Lossgott, executive creative director of AMV BBDO. Bodyform's "pain dictionary" is available in a highlight created ad hoc in the brand's Instagram Stories and also in animated posts published in the firm's "feed" on this social network. An ebook is also available for download and the dictionary in printed format will be distributed among doctors, NGOs and influencers. As part of its campaign, Bodyform has also created a "museum of pain" hosted on the website created ad hoc for the #PainStories campaign .
